Pastor Tommie Mae Byers

A Woman after the Heart of God!

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Pastor Tommie Mae Byers has ministered at churches, ministerial organizations, prisons and community groups throughout New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland. She attended Deliverance Bible Institute in Newark, NJ, and graduated in May 1977. After her graduation and serving in the capacity of a missionary at Deliverance Evangelistic Church, Pastor Byers was elevated to an evangelist.

Pastor Byers was ordained as an elder at New Destiny Fellowship Church in Wilmington, DE where she participated in the Threshing Floor Prayer Group; led 8 AM Saturday prayer; and taught New Members and Discipleship Living Classes. Pastor Tommie Mae Byers had an opportunity to travel to Nairobi, Kenya on a missionary crusade with Apostle Thomas W. Weeks, Sr., and other pastors where she functioned as a prayer team captain for about fifty women. She also performed outreach efforts as a volunteer coordinator for the Bethel Temple Community Development Corporation, a faith-based initiative affiliated with New Destiny Fellowship Church.

Her heart of compassion has always been compelled towards those who are in need – spiritually, emotionally, and physically. In 2003, she and a group of Christian sisters formed Agape Time Ministries. This ministry has been supported by others through the distribution of toys, clothing, and food to the needy; the provision of referrals to social and health organizations; the visitation to the sick and shut-ins; and the presentation of Christian-focused workshops. For the past 17 years, Pastor Byers has hosted the Agape Time TV Broadcast on DETV Channel 28 to reach the lost and preach the gospel.

Her burden for souls pushes her into the prisons and shelters. She currently has ministered and mentored the females at Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute as a Prison Fellowship volunteer and provided bibles and personal hygiene items through Agape Time Ministries. Pastor Byers also has preached and taught the Word of God to the females and males at the Cecil County Correctional Facility in Elkton, MD.

Pastor Byers currently holds virtual prayer gatherings and bible studies through FreeConferenceCall.com every month and distributes care packages, food, toys, and clothes to those in need.
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. (Luke 10:2)
Let us be steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord!!!!
